Progress of my Album Poster I started with the background where I watched a tutorial on how to warp a specified picture. I warped a picture of a wave and created this background which I found unique. Unfortunately, the video since then has been taken down from YouTube. I then added my first layer which was my artist. I quickly realised that I wanted to add an effect on the layer as it did not look part of my poster. I eventually chose Linear Light after looking through effects. Choosing Linear Light makes the artist look part of the poster. I then added my artist logo which I have talked about through one of my blogposts and why I find its important to create a logo name for an artist so they can be easily remembered. Next, I added conventional parts to what an album poster should contain which includes a debut album, which songs and when the album is out I thought I would add below a website devoted to my artist and his upcoming album. I got t

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? For my music video, I replicated some parts of my video from watching Liam Gallagher - Wall Of Glass, using such shots as a canted angle shown below: As you can see, I used similar black clothing on my artist as Liam does because long black coats fit in to the indie rock genre what Liam Gallagher is apart of. I used a canted angle just like in "Wall of Glass" as this sort of camera shot defines how indie music video conventions are different compared to such genres like pop. During "Wall of Glass", there was a lot of different camera angles which for the audience, keeps your attention as the editing of the video either changes quickly or the camera is always moving via a tracker or a dolly. As shown in these screenshots, I have used the same angle to portray a similar visual however with my own twists to it, e.g. the art
ALBUM POSTER 2ND DRAFT

Here is my second draft of my album poster. As you can see, many changes where made from my first draft as I started to include various bits and pieces to create a more conventional poster. The use of adding such apps as Spotify and Apple iTunes gave the product more realism and that you could actually download the album on the set date (which is also another convention I added to my product). This is also when I decided my name for the artist. I was first of all trying to think of a unique and create name for a superstar artist, however I started to think about my genre and the artists who fit in it. People like Alex Turner, Miles Kane, Jake Bugg and Liam Gallagher all use their real names. This made me realise that I do not need an unorthodox name for my artist as it is not a true convention to my genre, so I finally resulted on using Callum Rudd. Since I was just using an original name, I wanted to create a simple but effective logo for the Callum Rudd brand. I took an idea f

This was the start of my first draft album poster. I wanted to have my artist cover the majority of the poster. This is why I used a ghost effect on two duplicates behind my artist so that he is the focal point of the poster. I also added the cloudy effect so that I was able to give focus to the middle Callum and make almost two silhouettes behind him. I finally decided that I was not happy with the way this advert product looked due to the actual picture of my artist. I believe that it did not give him any sort of identity, so to rectify this problem I went and took more pictures of my artist where I was finally happy with his image. I also decided to remove the cloudy effect, and instead created my own effect where it linked well with the clothing of my artist in my music video. This is what I copied for my first draft to create fog around my artist:
